Charterhouse, the organizers of the Annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, has set May 13, 2023, for the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which will happen live at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
This year’s VGMA award night is tagged as one of Ghana’s biggest music nights looking critically at the artistes likely to win this year’s Best Artist of the year.
There have been several speculations as to who is likely to grab the overall best award. People are eyeing Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Camidoh, and Sarkodie to be the artists likely to be the winner of the 2023 Best Artist of the Year.
Last year, Lynx Entertainment signee KiDi won the Artiste of the Year award at the VGMAs with his hit song ‘Touch It’ which was released in 2021.
Earlier this year, musicians were asked to file for nominations for the various categories.
Some of the categories include Artist of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Afrobeats song of the Year, and Highlife Song of the Year, among others.
The aim of this initiative is to showcase the talent of new artists to the world to be recognized as members of the mainstream music industry.
