Mohammed Kudus scores for Ajax despite Europa League exit

Mohammed Kudus was on target again for Ajax as the team crashed out of the Europa League after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Union Berlin.

The youngster registered his 15th goal of the season in all competitions and his first goal in the second-tier competition in Europe.

Robin Knoche gave the hosts the lead 20 minutes in from the penalty spot before Josip Juranović doubled the lead for Union Berlin just before the end of the half.

Mohammed Kudus then pulled one back for the Dutch side in the 50th minute but Union Berlin immediately restored their lead through Danilho Doekhi.

The match result means the Dutch giants are out of the European competition this season and will have to focus on winning the Dutch Eredivisie title.

Up next for the Kudus and his Ajax teammates, will be to take on Vitesse in the Dutch top-flight league this weekend.
