73-year-old man stabbed to death over fowl

A 73-year-old man, identified as Adam Mahama, has reportedly been stabbed to death on Tuesday, February 21, in Salaga at Raafi Angulu in the Savanna Region.

Details of the incident are sketchy, but reports suggest he was killed over a fowl.

According to information gathered, a misunderstanding about the ownership of a fowl ensued between two families, with some of them wielding cutlasses and other offensive weapons., resulting in the alleged stabbing of Mr Mahama.

It is reported that a young man went into the other party’s house to retrieve the fowl that he claimed was his, and a fight broke out between both parties.

At the peak of the misunderstanding,  Mr Mahama is reported to have requested that both parties stop fighting.

However, one of the young men allegedly stabbed him in the stomach and back with a cutlass.

Following the incident, the suspect is said to have fled.
