Ghanaian dancehall artist Jupitar has lamented the consistent rejection of his work by some event organizers who honour musicians in various award segments in the country.
Jupitar addressing the issue of his discomfort said he mostly submits his work for consideration for awards but always gets ignored and that has been his worry over the years.
The Star Life hitmaker speaking to one of the media noted that “In our award schemes, sometimes I submit my work and they ignore it. Where I am coming from is not last year or two years ago. There is a root to it where it started ten years ago, and you know you are doing a good job, but there are a couple of people who have made up their mind that irrespective of how good you are, irrespective of how excellent you are, or whatever you are doing”.
“No matter how good you play, or do, or how excellent your teamwork is, they are going to sideline you, and this sidelining thing is one of the major factors that is bringing down our music industry,” he added.
Jupitar also added that there are other artists who are being ignored in the music industry but who have talents and must be honoured to boost their creativity.
“It’s time that we upgrade our game and become a very successful industry in Africa and around the globe,” he said.
Jupitar recently made some comments on the lack of support for musicians especially the Ga artists with many celebrities in the music industry and social media users criticizing his statement.
The dancehall artiste believes there must be an equal opportunity for all musicians and not those who are already well-grounded in the music industry.
