The 65th Grammy Awards was held successfully in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, and several Ghanaians were there to support their countryman, Rocky Dawuni, the sole nominee.
The awards scheme recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022.
In 2022, Dawuni got his third Grammy nomination, thus the Best Global Music Performance for his work “Neva Bow Down” featuring Blvk H3ro.
However, he was beaten to the accolade by Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode’s with their single ‘Bayethe’.
Nonetheless, several Ghanaian stars, including KiDi, Stonebwoy, Dentaa Amoateng MBE, and Edem, were spotted at the event.
KiDi, on Monday, February 6, 2023, posted his outfit on his Instagram page for the occasion.

Renowned entrepreneur, producer, television presenter, actress and manager Dentaa Amoateng was spotted in made-in-Ghana ‘kente’ whilst having fun with some participants at the event.
“I had the pleasure of attending the 65th GRAMMY Awards hosted by the @recordingacademy. The event was truly an amazing production. It honoured great musical talent. My highlight was seeing Mary J Blige live and a huge performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop. Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Salt & Pepa, Run DMC and LL Cool J!” she posted.
