Former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah has emerged as a possible option to take over as the new head coach of the Black Stars according to multiple media reports.
The Black Stars coaching role has been vacant following the resignation of Otto Addo.
The 47-year-old left his role following the country’s elimination from the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana picked up only one win and suffered two defeats.
However, the Ghana Football Association [GFA] are yet to announce Otto Addo’s successor.
And according to reports, Appiah has emerged as the favourite to take over the role for the third time.
Appiah is famously remembered for leading the Black Stars to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but left his role after following the country’s elimination.
He was reappointed in 2018 but was sacked in 2020 after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Chris Hughton, who served as a technical advisor under Otto Addo has also been linked to the vacant job.
Black Stars will be reassembled for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers next year.
