Ghana Black Meteors recorded an advantage in the first leg of the second round of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications on Sunday afternoon after beating Mozambique.
A brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh handed the Meteors a 2-1 win at the Estadio National de Zimpeto in Maputo.
The Hearts of Oak striker scored both goals in the second half of the game from the spot kick in the 64th minute and the 76th minute of the game.
Mozambique mounted a challenge but could only manage a consolation goal in the 88th minute.
Ghana will host the return leg next Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
