Head coach of the Black Princesses, Ben Forkuo has released his final list of players to represent Ghana at the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
A total of 21 players, made up of six defenders, three goalkeepers, seven midfielders and five forwards were selected for the 2022 edition of the tournament scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, to Sunday, August 28, 2022.
Coach Forkuo also announced the team will be captained by Evelyn Badu.
The current CAF young player of the year will be assisted by Mukarama Abdulai.
The likes of Boaduwaa Doris, Jafaru Rahma, Nyama Cecilia, Suzzy Teye, Sharon Esinam Sampson and Owusu Jacqueline have all earned a spot in the team for the competition.
Ahead of the tournament, the team, on Tuesday, August 3, 2022, completed an hour-and-a-half training session with no injuries and will hold multiple activities before they take on the United States of America in their first game.
The team will fight to advance from the group stage with a game with a strong opponent, the USA on August 11, then face the Netherlands before playing their last group match against Japan.
