Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, David Obeng Nyarko, has responded to rumours that Franck Etouga and Sheriff Mohammed are leaving the club.
Etouga, the Premier League’s top scorer with 16 goals this season, is said to be on the radar of French Ligue 1 side Saint-Étienne who want to sign the Cameroonian at the end of the season.
Midfielder Sheriff has also been linked with a move abroad.
But Obeng Nyarko dismissed rumours in a tweet, calling them “fabricated stories.”
He urged the club’s fans to focus on winning the league rather than fabricated stories, and he added that discussions and decisions on potential transfers in and out of the club will be made at the end of the season.
“Transfer Rumors here and there .. Warriors, let’s stay focused on winning the league and not on these fabricated stories that has the tendency to create diversion. All discussions and decisions on potential transfers in and out of the club will be taken at the end season. Ok,” a tweet revealed.
Kotoko are eight points clear at the top with 10 games remaining.
Their next game is against northern giants Real Tamale United.
