Ghana Football Association has released the programme line up for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification play-off against Nigeria.
The Black Stars will host Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022, before travelling to Abuja for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
The match is expected to draw more attention around the world and will be keenly watched by football fans in Ghana and Nigeria because of the rivalry between the two countries.
The Black Stars players are expected to arrive in the country today and together with the technical team will leave Accra for Kumasi on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 to begin preparation for the crucial games.
The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the Mundial in Qatar scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
The Super Eagles are chasing their 7th World Cup appearance since their first in 1994 while the Black Stars, making 3 consecutive appearance since their first in the year 2006 will be hoping for their 4th and a return after missing out of the 2018 edition held in Russia.
Nigeria who made it to the 2018 World Cup reached the round of 16 stage losing to Argentina.
Ghana won the last encounter between the two that was played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi was in 1990.
