Ghana vs. Nigeria: GFA to mobilize supporters to fill Baba Yara

Ghana FA Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo has confirmed that the Association is planning to organize supporters to fill the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as part of efforts to rally support for the Black Stars ahead of the titanic clash against Nigeria.

Ghana hosts Nigeria in the first leg of the World Cup playoff at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday March 25.

As part of plans to ensure the Black Stars defeat to secure a comfortable scoreline in the first leg at home, the FA is keen to rally support for the team.

Speaking in an interview on plans to ensure the Black Stars win the game, the Berekum Chelsea administrator said “The Ghana Football Association has laid down a lot of measures to ensure we get the support for the Black Stars. I do not want to preempt but the GFA will meet the sports media in Kumasi, go on the radio and speak to the people to calm nerves,” he told Precise FM.

“Some people do not know how psychologically utterances affect situations. The hatred for the Black Stars are born out of a lot of issues, sometimes not because of the team itself but hatred for some people who surround the team but I entreat all to erase that hatred for the betterment of the team,” he added.

The Black Stars will play the reverse fixture against the Super Eagles on March 29, 2022 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The two West African giants will battle it out in this two-legged encounter to secure one of the tickets to represent Africa in the World Cup in November.
