Nii Lante reveals how Black Stars management force players to demand more winning bonuses

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has revealed how management members of the Black Stars convince players into demanding high winning bonuses just to take their share. 

The outspoken Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency also disclosed national team players do not play for pride anymore and are more into the monies they receive.

Speaking on GTV Sports Plus’ Saving the Passion show, Nii Lante Vanderpuye passionately explained the challenges he dealt with as a Minister of Sports.

“Some Black Stars players told me personally that, Black Stars management members ask them to ask for more winning bonuses because they also get their share,” he said.

“When we make money the reason for players to play for the Black Stars and not play for pride, then we are going to suffer for long.

“I tried to stop most of the damning things during my time as a Sports Minister, how can the Black Stars spend over 1 million dollars just for one match.”

Nii Lante Vanderpuye was Minister of Youth and Sports between 2015 to 2017.
