Newly admitted students of the Ultimate Ministerial Academy, a charismatic institution of higher learning, have been urged to dedicate their lives to God and their nations with discipline, devotion, diligence.
President of the Academy, Dr Akwasi Agyemang Prempeh, is convinced this would make them become approved workmen and women that would feed the flock of God while performing their civic responsibilities towards their respective countries.
He said this at the matriculation ceremony held in Accra last Sunday for 38 students including international students from the United States of America (USA), Togo, Tanzania, and Italy who have been enrolled to pursue courses in prophecy and Christian ministry.
The training, organised both in-person and online was to equip the students with the requisite biblical knowledge that would make them unique in the world of ‘ecclesiastical academia’.
In his speech, Dr Prempeh asked students to “always remember that, as men and women of God, you also have certain civic responsibilities in your respective nations.”
He stressed on the need “in fulfilling your duties, let no one despise you because you are youthful; but rather be an example to the believers in passion, in prudence, in patience, and in purity.”
“…Know that what you gain here will depend on your sense of purpose, sense of pursuit, sense of perseverance, and sense of prudence. If only you will avail yourselves to God, and to the instructors, you will become an approved workman, who will diligently feed the flock of God,” he added.
“Bear in mind that you are not here just to add up to the teaming number of ministers in the vineyard, but to fulfill a specific mandate,” Dr Prempeh told the matriculants.
Reverend Dr John Ghartey, Rector of the Academy underscored the essence of the ceremony and said, it was an important requirement for persons enrolling for the first in such an institution of higher learning.
He explained that such a ceremony was “like the baptism or initiation of new members into the academic family.”
He said that the institution has created an environment that would make the ministers understand their area of calling and receive specialised ministerial training to enable them function strategically.
