2022 World Cup Qualifiers: Ghanaians react to ‘terrible’ Black Stars performance

Some Ghanaian football fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current Black Stars team with a section calling for the immediate sack of coach Charles Akonnor after just one and half years in charge of the senior national team.

A shambolic performance by the Ghana team led to a 1-0 defeat against Bafana Bafana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match played at the FNB Stadium on Monday evening.

Ahead of the match, Ghanaians were expecting an improvement in the team’s performance after a narrow win against Ethiopia on Friday.

The Black Stars were outplayed by the South Africans in the game making them fortunate to have conceded just a goal courtesy of a late strike from Bafana Bafana forward Bongokuhle.

The defeat becomes a setback in Ghana’s bid to return to the World Cup as South Africa now tops the Group G log with four points and Ghana are second with three points in two games.
