England national team coach Gareth Southgate has released a 33-man provisional squad for the 2020 Euros, with Manchester United players dominating the call-up.
Southgate named five players from Manchester United while Manchester City produced four.
However, Red Devil right-back Aaron Wan Bissaka missed the cut while fellow right-backs in the Premiership like Chelsea’s Reece James and Kyle Walker of Manchester City received call-ups.
This summer’s provisional squad for the European Championship has Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold, amid scrutiny of his omission in March, recalled alongside his captain at Liverpool, Jordan Henderson.
Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford and Leicester City’s James Maddison, and Tottenham’s Eric Dier were also left out.
The provisional list has three uncapped players, namely, Ben White of Brighton, Everton defender Ben Godfrey and Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale included in the squad.
The Three Lions have two pre-tournament friendly dates against Austria and Romania fast approaching, with a 26-man party needing to be settled on before those outings.
Manager Gareth Southgate is set to announce the final 26 -man squad on June 1.
