The accident occurred at Gomoa Mprumen Junction when the pickup driver attempted a wrongful U-turn and collided with the bus travelling from Accra to Cape Coast.

Thirteen passengers sustained serious injuries, while 11 others received minor injuries.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialists Hospital and Apam St. Luke Catholic Hospital.

Apam District Fire Service Commander DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule attributed the accident to reckless driving.
